CheckPoint 5400 & 8400 Series Pumps are pneumatically driven, reciprocating
positive-displacement pumps specifically developed to handle challenging
continuous chemical injection applications. The 54/84 can produce flow
rates exceeding 19 GPM (72 L/MIN), and can handle pressures up to 20,000
PSIG (1,380 BARG). Introduced in 2001, the Series 54/84 has emerged as the proven, no-compromise
workhorse in mission-critical injection applications around the world. In high-rate, continuous pumping
applications where reliability is a principal consideration, this is your go-to pump.
HIGHLY RELIABLE
Proven design offering “order of magnitude” reliability improvement.
PRECISE METERING
Accuracy and repeatability are highest in the industry.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
All wetted parts are 316L SS, ceramic, and inert elastomers like
PTFE (Teflon®) and perfluoroelastomer (Kalrez®) with Hastelloy and
Super Duplex optional. Fully NACE compliant.
SERVICE
CheckPoint specializes in aftersales support and service.
The 54/84 was developed for continuous, accurate injection in harsh offshore and remote locations. It’s
for serious, mission-critical chemicals like methanol, drag reducer, and other expensive, hazardous, and
corrosive production chemicals. From the materials of construction, to the isolated chemical head, to the
switching valve, everything has been built to optimize chemical injection applications which require accuracy
and continuous reliability. No compromises were made anywhere along the line because these applications
are too important to leave to “pressure test” pumps that are not built for continuous use, consistent
pumping rate, or challenging chemical services.
INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH CONSTRUCTION
Standard wetted components are 316L SS with ceramic coated wear parts for nearly infinite life.
Hastelloy and Super Duplex stainless steel are also available. Wetted seal materials are all chemically
inert PTFE and perfluorelastomer. All materials of construction are compatible with sour gas to NACE
MRO175/ISO 15156. The entire pump is over-designed to a 6x safety factor, ensuring it will last for many
years in the harshest conditions. There are no springs or diaphragms to wear and break, no parts to slowly
weaken and cause rate variation over time. There are no spring-loaded seals, no pneumatic relays, and
fewer moving parts than any other pneumatic pump.
EXHAUST GAS RECOVERY
No other pneumatic pump can recover exhaust gas under significant back pressure. This enables customers
to re-use the gas after it has powered the pump. Consider the environmental benefits – as well as
the cost savings – achieved by re-routing the spent drive gas to the suction side of a gas compressor
rather than releasing valuable production into the atmosphere. Customers are also using this unique feature
to lower gas emissions while powering thermoelectric generators, feeding catalytic heaters, and running
them inside enclosures while venting externally, among other uses.
“PLUG & PLAY” PACKAGES FOR SALE OR RENTAL
CheckPoint provides 5400 & 8400 Series pumps with all necessary
components, including gauges, pipework and drip pan,
pulsation control, etceteras, within a standard or custom package
optimized for reliable performance and ready to work on delivery.
Over 80% of all 5400 and 8400 pumps CheckPoint ships are in a
package rather than as a loose pump.
UNIQUE CONTROLLER MECHANISM
The CheckPoint pneumatic shuttle valve controller is integral
and contains three highly durable moving parts, no springs, and no diaphragms. By comparison, most
other controllers are external, bulky, and contain a multitude of springs, valves, and assorted seals and
diaphragms. Some pumps with larger piston diameters also require an additional “pneumatic relay” with
yet more parts. Other pump companies have internal controllers, but all contain a multitude of small, sensitive
components. No CheckPoint pump has any spring, diaphragm, or other small, sensitive component
susceptible to premature failure.
